This Review is for Both 1st and 2nd Season of Kono Oto Tomare! aka Sounds of Life
If you have been following the website, must have come across the last post Your Lie In April. Subsequently following the emotional roller coaster, I fall in love with sounds and started looking for anime that can potentially fill the void that has been created by the aforementioned series. Hence, hooked up with Kono Oto Tomare or Sounds of Life. Both the anime are similar in few perspectives however, different in many ways at the same time. While the former paint an individual as a protagonist Kono Oto Tomare! focuses on Tokise High School Koto Club who are aiming for nationals. Yes! national; vibes similar to Haikyuu. The anime is built upon simple clichéd high school club plotline however, it instantly differentiates the series by the use of Koto.
Koto is a traditional Japanese instrument made out of wood and comprised of 13 or 17 Strings. The series revolves around Chika, Satowa, Kurata, Kurusu and their exchange with the peers, surroundings and other casts. All the main characters carry different traits, responsible for making the series interesting and locking the fresh feel in it. Kono Oto Tomare! is simple yet are relatable Slice of Life, Shonen Anime that is somewhat underrated in comparison despite an extravagant execution of the plot.

Animation
The Animation quality of the series is vibrant and the pellet used is unique to the series. The series consists the optimal no of the frames and keeps it intact in the 13+13 episodes run. The animation revolves around the real-life events and the imagination, both are executed brilliantly. The overall animation quality is good, however, there aren’t any notable animation moments except the hand movements.
The character designs are beautiful and look adorable. Moreover, the background characters are designed also to speak up the effort and care put in the series.
The overall sound animation is par but the Koto playing is literally heavenly. The sound work is superior and make the series stand out in every possible way. The tracks used lingers days after the series and tones seem like wind passing trough the heaven to sum it up Sound stay on top surpassing the character exchange.
